INHERITED
For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. (1 Peter 1:18 NLT)
Inheriting speaks to me about giving, transferring, leaving something for others.
Inheriting speaks to me about giving and also receiving.
I can leave something to someone, but I can also receive something that another person left me.
This verse says that we inherited a certain lifestyle from our ancestors, which may have been good, or it may have been bad.
For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors.(1 Peter 1:18 NLT)
This verse makes me think about generational blessings and curses.
