Crying is healing

CRYING IS HEALING

When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, they wept until they could weep no more. (1 Samuel 30:3-4 NLT)

The city where David and his family lived had been attacked. The thieves had looted the place and had taken captive the women and children and had burned the houses.

What to do in the face of such misfortune? What do you do when you face something unexpected of such magnitude in your life?
The first thing I want to say is that it’s not bad to cry at certain times.
Everything has it’s time, there is a time to cry and there is a time to laugh.
When a person is going through a loss, tears will be a normal part of the healing process.

David and his men were courageous men, accustomed to war, but they came to a time in their lives where they cried.

The bible shows us that even our Lord Jesus Christ wept at the loss of His friend Lazarus (John 11:33-35).

Crying is a way to begin the recovery process after a painful situation, such as the death of a loved one, the loss of a parent due to divorce, or any other type of emotional or material loss that produces pain.

When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, they wept until they could weep no more. (1 Samuel 30:3-4 NLT)

Think about it:

What has helped you heal the pain in your life?
How has taking a time to cry helped you?
How do you think holding back from crying affects people?
