Restful

RESTFUL

Moab has been at ease from his youth; He has settled on his dregs, And has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, Nor has he gone into captivity. Therefore his taste remained in him, And his scent has not changed..(Jer 48:11 NKJV)

It comes to my mind to make a practical application that wine represents in our life, and that the rested person is the one who has not undergone changes in their way of being or thinking. They are the quiet people, who don’t achieve anything significant, who don’t dare to leave their original vessel (their comfort).

On the other hand, there are those who have suffered in life being emptied from vessel to vessel. Each vessel represents a big problem or challenge in life. These people change every time they wake up from a crisis and become better people.

Just as the taste and smell of wine changes as it is poured from container to container, so does the taste of people when they have overcome problem after problem in life.

Their “taste and smell” is different, they are more compassionate, they taste of humility, they understand the pain of others, they smell of the love of God. Their taste is not bitter like that of a rancid wine, because when they have suffered disappointments, betrayals and pain, they have not become bitter, but rather have improved.

Moab has been at ease from his youth; He has settled on his dregs, And has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, Nor has he gone into captivity. Therefore his taste remained in him, And his scent has not changed..(Jer 48:11 NKJV)

Think about it:

How has it helped you every time you have overcome a problem or crisis?
Have you dared to leave your comfort zone, what did you learn?
After a problem have you become better or bitter?
